This is the month of December. Which means Faces and Advertlets is going to have their monthly E-Freebies contest again. Once again, I'll join to try my luck on getting something. This time, I'm trying to get my hands on the National Treasure merchandise.
But once again, they will ask me the same question :"Why do you think you deserve the prize?". So, I'll answer the question.
It started on the 21st December 2007, when I visited the Pavilion for some window shopping. OK, this clears the myth that guys do not window shop. The truth is, guys do window shop. Anyway, my friends and I planned to watch the movie "The National Treasure: Book of Secrets" at the new cinema.
So what does that have to do with me wanting the prize? A lot, actually. I can give you three very good reasons why I deserve the prize. The main reason is, after watching the movie, I made a hypothesis that the movie is not screened just for Malaysians to have fun or to make out with their partner s at the cinema. I believe that Malaysia has its own national treasure.
Yeah, call me a fool, that's what the people call Benjamin Franklin Gates before he found the treasure.
As I was saying, I believe that there are treasures in Malaysia that is yet to be found. So we figured out the possible clue. The first clue we got is obviously the movie itself. Where is the movie being shown? Pavilion. This means the treasure is somewhere in Pavilion. So we search high and low, and at last, we found it!
Or so it seems. When we opened the door, there's a note that reads "IN YOUR FACE!! HAHA!!"
It turns out the car is not the treasure after all. We were disappointed, but when I read the note over and over again, I noticed that it is another clue. Yes, it says "FACE", and immediately I remembered FACES! Where else can i find treasure if not from those guys who gives freebies every month? So I checked out the December's contest, and indeed, I found this National Treasure merchandise as one of the prizes in the list! So I do think I deserve to get the treasure, just like the Gates family deserved the fame for finding their treasures.
That's the first reason. The second reason is because this is the month of December. Which is also the month of giving. Santa always deliver presents to good kids and nothing to naughty kids. I don't remember being naughty, but Santa never visited me. I guess my family members forgot to tell Santa that I had moved out of the house to study across the South China Sea. As a result, I had no presents, and I had nobody to talk to on Christmas. The only person I spoke to is the KFC's cashier, with mono syllables. So, I hope FACES will act as Santa, and give me a present I like. I am a good boy, you know. I follow all my parent's instruction "Study well, get into good college, get a good job, find a wife and have lotsa kids". I already fulfilled 2/5, so this proves that I am being obedient :D .
The third reason is that i will have something to look forward to during the year 2008. Yup, if i won the prize, I will be informed in the month of January 2008. This means the National Treasure merchandise could possibly be the first gift I'll receive for the year 2008. This means I'll start my year on a high note, which will eventually lead to me being successful in the years to come. So, by giving me the prize, not only will I be happy, but you will make someone's future a brighter place.
Did I say three? I meant four reasons, actually. The last but not least reason is that I will be leaving Malaysia soon to further my studies. This means I won't be able to join all the contests from FACES because unless FACES is good enough to mail the prizes to Australia, I don't think I will be able to collect my prize. So, I will have to get the prize this month or missing out the chance to win anything at all for the next four years.
So dear kind-hearted FACES, I hope I win the prize before my time in Malaysia is up. I will bring back souvenirs from Australia! <----- This makes five. ;)

Father Christmas has been exceptionally generous this month. He gave me lots of goodies. OK, some i bought myself. Still, i still got lots of freebies. So, it's time for me to brag all the stuff I've got in the month of December.
On 11th December 2007, went to One Utama to buy cloths for Chinese New Year. OK OK , it may be too early, but what to do. It's the only time available for me before busy studying time came. Walk around, so here's what i bought:
A shirt i bought for RM 45.
RAGS Jean, which i bought for RM40, after 50% discount. See, who says only girl can get good deals?
A military belt i got for Rm20, to replace my old school belt.
RM30 for the Svengali deck. Again, i stressed that this card is perfectly normal.
Then the following Saturday, my prize for the FACES contest i entered earlier finally arrived! Here's the stuff i won.
The main prize itself, a Brothers movie shirt.
green goo Daintree purifying Whip cream.
KAMI the album, soundtrack for KAMI the TV series on 8TV.
Two movie pass for two to movies from the mentioned publisher. Don't know what to do with it, because the movie from the publisher isn't those must-see ones.
The next event would be the one that makes Sherp excited again. It's the Why Why Love promo where i got these stuff:
The poster.
The CDs.
The cap.
The tickets. All these costs RM100, which is also an offer, since the retail price for the CDs alone is RM119.90. For a lesser price, i get the 3 extra products, the trio's signature, Kingone and Rainie's sweet smile, and Mike's voice.
OK, to stop Sherp from her misery, I'll move on to the next day, where i went to the new Pavilion mall, as well as Low Yat to get some stuff. These is what i bought.
A laptop cooler which costs RM119.
And I also got myself a car, because i wrote about them as part of my ads. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * OK, no harm trying.
The very next day again, there's this Christmas celebration at my college. Totally free, get to see live concerts, skids, carols and after that, free meals. When it's time to go back, we got free gifts summor. So nice. Here's what in the goodie bags:
Galaxie magazine. September issue. that's a quarter of year ago.
Magnolia Chocolate milk. Drank oredi. i hope this is not also from 3 months ago.
Nesvita 3 in 1 oatmeal something something. Also drank.
Domino's Pizza promotion voucher.
Dunno what the heck is this. some kind of skin care product maybe.

So, the average price for each stuff would be RM12.65. This means if i sell off everything for Rm13, i still gain profits.

Rainie Yang, Mike He and Kingone from the Taiwan drama Why Why Love is in Malaysia from 19-21 December to promote their drama. They had a public promo at Sunway Pyramid on Thursday evening, so i decided to attend the event.
So, off i went to Sunway Pyramid. The problem is, i don't know which one is Sunway Pyramid. Soo, i reached a shopping mall with a pyramid on top of it. If it is not called Sunway Pyramid, i don't know what is it called anymore.
At first, i thought i arrived in Egypt.
Then, after walking another short distance, i realized i reached the end of the world.
After walking back all the way back to Malaysia, i was back at Sunway Pyramid. Now, i don't know where is the promo going on . After walking a while, i found this:
Oh, it's held at the Orange Entrance of the building. Now, where is that place? I stayed around to wait if there's any announcement, but until 5.10pm, still no sign of anything. Only then i asked the information counter, who said that it had started, and pointed me to the venue. I quickly went to the venue, and as expected, was greeted by this:
I managed to crawl my way up to as near as possible, but i can only get to half the way, as more people are gathering in front. I tried to take a pic, but it turned out to be impossible, with the other cams and phones raised up high, banners and cardboards from die hard fans, umbrellas all over to cover from rain and also the darkness due to the heavy clouds.
I don't bother posting the rest, because it looks just the same, if not worse. I did take a video though, so for those who want to see a blur Mike and Kingone, you can view the video. The sound is ok though, so you can hear Kingone and Mike's voice right from my camera!
Ok, to make up for the lousy pic and video, i will post pics taken by others who have a better view of the event.

Actually, Mike's birthday is on the 28th December, but they celebrated it that day instead. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to him in chinese, english and malay. So, I don't just watch the promo, i celebrated Mike's birthday!!!
After the celebration, it's autograph session time. Only then i realized that only those who bought the Why Why Love merchandise can enter the front area. If i had known it earlier, i would have bought them sooner. Because it is going to rain, they moved the autograph session from the stage to a covered area.
They were right. Soon, it started to rain.
Still unable to get any pics of them, i won't let this trip all the way from Klang be of waste. I exited the crowd, look around, and saw a booth selling the merchandise. Damn, if i noticed it earlier, i could have got fron view of the whole thing. Anyway, i bought the CDs, and head to the autograph area. It took quite some time before i reach the table. Luckily a guy and his girlfriend are kind enough to let me stay with them under their umbrella. Still, I was quite wet.
When i reached the autograph table, the first person to sign the CD and poster is Mike. He looked at me, smiled and said "Xing ku ni le" , which means (sorry to) trouble you. I guess he noticed that i was wet from head to toe just for the event. Then, Rainie is in the middle. She signed the items, and smiled. Next would be Kingone. He also signed, and smiled at me. Too bad we were not allowed to take pictures in the autograph zone.
So that's my meeting with the 3 popular actors and actress from Taiwan. Now to show the signatures and other stuff i got from the goodie bag:

Ever wondered how we lived in a world totally opposite of what we are living in right now? For example, breathing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen, or walking on water and swim on the land? Or make it simple, busy at night, but deserted in the morning?
Do visit me at this world, ok? I've been living in this weird world for the past 9 months. Night it turns into paradise, but at day time is turns into a ghost town. Ok, I'll show evidence.
These pictures are taken at 10.30PM. while most people are already sleeping like pigs in Malaysia and places with the same time, people here are having their sweet time at the computer center and also the indian restaurant downstairs. Well, 10.30PM may be too early, so here's another shot i took later.
No, it's not the same picture. This one is taken at 12.30PM, but i don't see much difference in the two pics. In fact, this 2 pics can be used in the "Spot The Difference" contest. at this time, even people in India are already sleeping.
So what's this place like in the morning?
Come on, it's 9.30 in the morning! 9.30AM is the time when people starts their daily business. Where is everyone? Heck, even the grocery shop is still close at this time!
